1.Yeshua HaMashia(Christ) did not come to create a new law and replace the old law. A sin in the Old Testament disposition is a sin in the New. The phrase or idea, “If a Commandment, from the Mosaic covenant, appears in the New Testament it should be followed, if it does not then a then you are freed from it.” Does not appear in the New Testament. The Apostle Paul criticized the new Church for not following the law.
2.Abrahamic Covenant was not nullified by the Mosaic Covenant. The Mosaic Covenant was not replaced with the Davidic Covenant. And the Covenant of our Savior did not replace the rest of the Covenants. Covenants are not cars, with the 05' models being replaced with the 06'.
3.The Idea or concept that miracles, visions, personal revelations by Yehovah, gifts and tongues not occuring in our times, does not exist in the New Testament. (So not to sound confusing on any matter) Miracles, visions, personal revelations, gifts of the Holy Spirit and tongues did not come with an expiration date attached to them with the closing of the Book of Revelations. “He will do even greater things-” John 14:12.
Let me put it another way. What is the Kingdom Of GOD and what do kingdoms do? “24But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, “It is only by Beelzebub, the prince of demons, that this fellow drives out demons.”
25Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand. 26If Satan drives out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then can his kingdom stand? 27And if I drive out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your people drive them out? So then, they will be your judges. 28But if I drive out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.” Is demonic Position happening today? Are we, the Church, being over come by evil, socially, economically and with in temptation. Are legitimate Born Again Believers in Yeshua HaMashia being over come today? Yes. We have retreated into suburbia, or thick church walls, to heavy populated Christian Cities and let the Devil control the rest. If we do not over come then we are over come. There is no neutral ground.
4. The Bible is easy. You have to widdle the Word out context down to next to nothing to get an easy idea out of it. At that point the Word says nothing different then what the World puts out. Now where in the New Testament says the BIBLE is easy.

good stuff. I would agree with all except #3. I believe that the gifts of the spirit, such as tongues, prophecy, and especially new revelations ceased with the closing of the canon of scripture. The way God has chosen to speak to man today is through His word. If you say special revelation still exists, I would ask do you see it as having the same authority as the scriptures?
ReplyDeleteTo your question GOD does not contradict Himself. Would He ask you to do something outside of the Law? Why do you assume that there would be a conflict? Because you do not believe in special revelations. You see a bunch of people who speak from the vanity of their mind or demonic possession so you have never seen a true work of GOD. You are right to be suspicious of people claiming a gift or a special revelation. BUT you have zero right. ZERO right to believe that GOD has fettered His divine hand at the closing of scripture. There is precisely Zero scriptural Grounds for such a view. I can quote the WORD till the cows come home proving the opposite. Paul defines one of the basics of the faith is laying on of hands. Paul describes the gifts. Find me the Scripture "At the end men will Find I'm only good for salvation as taught by main stream American Seminaries." "And he closed the canon of scripture, never to be heard on earth again." Scripture does not teach that. You Tie up the strongman then you leave with his stuff. And the one that does my will...Will do greater things then these.
ReplyDeleteyou still didn't answer my question - do you see special revelation as having the same authority as the scriptures? YES or NO. It's a simple question. YES or NO. By the way, I never once mentioned anything about there being any conflict between a supposed new revelation and scripture. Go back and reread both our posts. It is YOU who made that assumption. So with that being said, what is your answer to my question - does special revelation have the same authority as the bible?
ReplyDeleteNew Revelation and Special Revelation are the same thing. Yes, Special Revelation from GOD has the same authority as the Bible. (But I don't use Special Revelation as a proof, only for the sake of argument.) It is the Source which is Divine. GOD is not divided. GOD is one. Echad. Why would I divide his Word or Revelation? It is the Source of the Revelation that matters. Revelation is Revelation is Revelation.
ReplyDeleteAs for New Revelations, you believe they cease with the closing of Scripture. (See I have reread your post.) And no where in Scripture says they have ceased. NO WHERE. NO where does it say in the BIBLE the gifts of the Spirit, prophecy, laying on of hands, tongues, etc has ceased. The exact opposite is the case.
You ask have I seen revelation or Gifts of the Spirit. What does that matter? If the Bible says it real, then it is real.
Interesting that you seem to be the first person that considers special revelation on par with God's holy scriptures, essentially rendering the canon still open. Even many continuationists would NEVER say that, but then again this isn't the first time I've heard you espouse beliefs no one else holds. If God speaking to people is the same as scripture, then why do we need the bible? Why not just let God speak to everyone?
ReplyDeleteAs for your argument that scripture never says the gifts of the spirit have ceased, I would ask you to please show me where it says the have continued and are for today. Please do not use the first two passages you quoted above either because neither one are even close to making a case for the canon to remain open. I base my understanding that special gifts have ceased, not on one specific verse saying so, but rather on an overview and understanding of the purpose of the gifts shown in scripture. When properly understood that the gifts of that time served a specific purpose (to confer and establish the authority of the apostles and essentially the church) then now we see they are no longer needed. Remember, they did not have the complete canon as we do now. Well I guess that point is lost on you since you deem the canon incomplete. Anyway, I could give much more specific examples on the specific purposes of specific gifts, but time and space limit me.
